Creative Ways to Use the Bonus Room Over Your Garage

A bonus room over the garage is a great way to add extra space to your new home. The most common uses for this space are guest rooms, media/game rooms or as a space for the teenagers to hangout. While those uses can be great for some, there are a few unique ways that people are using the bonus room and we love it. The Man Cave. This space can make a great place for a man cave where he can store all those automotive signs or Coca Cola memorabilia that you would rather not have around the home. He can set it up with his tv, some big comfortable couches and whatever else he will need to enjoy NASCAR or the big game. Music Room. If you have a musician in the family this is a great option for you. This will give them the space they need to practice by themselves or with friends. And, since this room is over the garage, this can keep most of the sound from disturbing the rest of the family. Yoga or Dance Studio. Imagine your own private place where you can stretch away the stresses of work or prepare yourself for a new day with some nice relaxing yoga. Not a yoga fan? What about dance? You will be able to play your music and perfect those killer moves for your next performance or audition without being interrupted. Homework Hub. Create a great work environment for your kids to get their homework done. Furnish this space with desks and comfortable chairs. Maybe even add a large table for those especially big projects that usually take up the dining room table. This will be great for your kids to finish all their homework on time or can be uses as the perfect homeschooling center. Library. Do you have bookworm in the family? Chances are they have always dreamed of having a home library. A bonus room above the garage will give you a great quite space to create this. Use bookshelves to line the walls and furnish with a few extra comfy chairs that are perfect for an afternoon spent reading a great book. Art or Photography Studio. Set up your easel and paints, your pottery wheel, or even your photo editing station for the perfect creative studio. You will certainly appreciate this room completely devoted to having peace and quiet while working on your best loved hobbies.
