The kitchen can be one of the most frequently used rooms in your home. So why not spend a little extra when building to make it perfect for you? And I’m not just talking about getting the cabinets or counter tops that you want but adding the extras that you may not have thought of before. Here are a few of our top choices for luxurious extras for your next kitchen. **An Ice Machine** Now this may not be something you have thought about before but it just might be the perfect addition to your new kitchen. I am sure most of us have run into the issue of no more ice in the freezer while hosting a summer get together and having to have our spouse or friend run to the store to pick up a bag or two of ice. With an ice machine you can have plenty of ice for all those lovely summer drinks. And the ice machine doesn’t just have to be for guests. It can be nice to just go get yourself a glass of ice water with those little square ice cubs that are way better than the large freezer-made ones. **Separate or Oversized Refrigerator and Freezer** This can be especially important if you have or large family or teenage boys (because let’s face it, they can eat all the food in a regular fridge within a few days….). Not only will you have plenty of space for your “everyday" needs but it can give you the ability to buy in bulk which will help you save money! You should decide on you needs and desires for your refrigerator and freezer while picking out your house plan so that you know it will fit. **A Trash Compactor** If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen but hate having to take out the trash so often or if you have troubles getting your trash bags to fit in your outside trash can at the end of the week, a trash compactor is perfect for you. This can be especially helpful if your local waste management department charges for every bag that is left outside of your regular sized trash can. **Two Sinks** Two sinks can be a life saver in your new home, especially when entertaining. I can’t tell you how many times I have been washing dishes when someone puts their hands in the sink to rinse them off. This is one of my biggest pet peeves and I know I can’t be the only one. Having two sinks can take care of this problem in a snap but that won’t be its only use. Your second sink can be located close to your stove to allow easy access for filling or draining pots. You can also use it as a food prep sink to keep all those germs consolidated to one area and away from your clean dishes. These are only a few of the options that you can add to your new kitchen. You can also consider a gas stove top and separate double oven, a spacious eat-at bar and even a large walk-in pantry. The options for your new kitchen are almost limitless so be sure to do your homework so that you can have the kitchen of your dreams.
